Cours Courses

One of the main aims of the AFMM is the promotion of the French language. This is done through various courses held throughout the year for a wide ranged public. Our courses cater for young children aged 6 to 10, adolescents learning French at school and adults who require knowledge of French for both personal and professional reasons.

Les Chérubins

 French for children aged 6-9

Our Chérubins class aims at introducing the French language to children aged 6 to 9. This course is based on activities such as crafts, songs etc. The aim of the course is not teach grammar rules but to expose young children to French in a fun environment allowing them a time of fun learning a new language.

*The Chérubins class will start on Monday 16th July. They will not have a lesson on the 23rd and the 30th July.

Adolescents

French for adolescents – Form 1 to Form 5

Our summer courses offer adolescents a revision of the previous year and a preparation for the next. All our teachers are fully qualified teachers of French as a Foreign Language and are employed as Teachers of French in private and public schools. The courses we organise are in line with the national curriculum and the material covered  goes hand in hand with what the students cover at school. Lessons are held in French exposing the students to the oral component of the language.

The AFMM is the local DELF representative. DELF is a diploma evaluating a student’s level in French. DELF diplomas are awarded by the French Ministry of Education and are internationally recognised.

As from this summer these diplomas are being incorporated into our summer schedule. Students registered for selected classes will be sitting for the DELF in September.  Our teachers are certified DELF examiners/correctors allowing them to give the students the best preparation for the different components of the exam. The summer package covers the course, the course book in preparation for the exam, and the DELF exam. Students registered with the AFMM this summer will benefit of a 20% discount on the cost of the DELF examination.

Summer courses start week 16th July and end week beginning 14th September (Courses 111/112 start week beginning 9th July)

DELF exams will be held on the 17th, 18th and 19th September 2018

Annual summer shutdown: 13th to 19th August 2018

Courses for Intermediate / A level

During the summer we are offering a course specifically designed for those students who have finished Form 5 and who would like to pursue their studies at Intermediate / A level. Our course will help students to bridge the gap between the two levels. The course will be based on language and conversation rather than literature.
